“THE Y GOT ME BACK ON TRACK.”

Donna Richardson took control of her health, and her life, at the Y.

The Y gave Donna the power to overcome self-doubt, weight issues and grief. Struggling with depression and extra weight, Donna joined the Y to transform herself. “I wanted to do something to feel better and be fit for my family. So, I came
to the Y.”
Through regular workouts, Donna lost 35 pounds. “The exercise lifted my spirits. I don’t think I would have made that first step without the Y’s help.”
Donna has since become a Certified Group Exercise Instructor and inspires others to lead a healthy life.
“The Y is now part of my every day routine. I have a better outlook on life and more drive to do things. Through coming to the Y, I feel like anything is possible.”
Donna is just one of over 7,000 people who work out at the YMCA of Greater Richmond every day. As a cause-driven organization, the Y provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all ages to become healthy and stay well in spirit, mind and body.
